Shaving ♥

Shaving is something that seems pretty cut and dry, but I've thought of a few tips to get a closer better, quicker shave as well as extend the life of a disposable razor and calm razor burned skin.

When buying disposable razors, the more blades the better. And always buy the ones for men because they're sharper since they're made to shave a face.

Shave your legs in the morning right when you get out of bed because if you wait until later in the day, your legs will be slightly swollen from walking around. Right when you wake up is when your legs are the least swollen so you'll get the closest shave.

While shaving, a good trick to get the most out of your razor is to clean the hair from it as you go. When you notice a build up or after every few strokes, press the razor into the palm of your hand and rub it in the same direction as the blades. Not against the blades, that would hurt. The way I'm saying to do it is totally painless but if you're wary of using your palm, you could rub it into a towel. This should keep the razor clean, I do this multiple times every single time I shave.

As for underarms, always shave them in the shower. Your hair is softest when you've been in a hot shower for a little while and this makes for the best underarm shave. Shaving outside of the shower is not only messy but it also causes you to get deodorant in your razor, yuck. Plus your stubble is prickly and shaving that could be really irritating.

If you do have any irritation after shaving anywhere, put hydrocortisone cream on it afterward. This can be found at Walmart, Target, and any given drugstore. If your skin is sensitive and you usually have slight irritation, mix some of the hydrocortisone in with your lotion and use that mixture immediately after shaving.
