Every skin type needs to moisturize.
I have combination skin which means my t-zone is oily. I used to think that meant I didn't need to moisturize and that a moisturizer would only make my skin oilier which I definitely did not want. But even super oily skin types need to hydrate and moisturize their skin, maybe even especially those skin types! The way I've begun to see it is- your skin secretes oil which means that clearly your body feels the need to produce it. So, that means your skin needs that oil it's producing. If you don't like it, the answer is not to try and dry it out because your body will only keep producing more and more! Trying to dry out oily skin is a battle you'll never win and will probably just cause your pores to generate even more oil to compensate which could lead to break outs.
What I began to realize is that if I couldn't dry up my oil, I'd replace it with something better. I began using moisturizers and oils and hydrating skin products which caused my skin to glow with health and sure enough, kept it from being so oily. Vitamin E is a great thing to have in a moisturizer because it evens skin tone. If you have scars, acne marks, discoloration, or even freckles, you need vitamin e in your moisturizer.

Sadly, I can't recommend a brilliant moisturizer because I haven't yet found one that I think is amazing but I have heard that the Vitamin E Moisturizer from The Body Shop is perf and have been wanting to try it.

A great product that's moisturizing but not necessarily a moisturizer is Bio Oil. I've been using it for a couple of months and I love it. You can get it at walmart or target and it's just pure oil. I was hesitant at first because it seemed so wrong to me, like I was rubbing cooking oil on my face or something.. I was sure it would break me out but I still had to give it a try. And let me tell you, I noticed a huge and positive difference after the first night of using it! You rub it into your skin twice a day to really hydrate and it works beautifully. It's meant to calm skin and even skin tone and also remove scars over time. It hasn't seemed to remove any of my dark spots but it does give a really nice overall even tone to my skin. It makes my skin look very dewy, soft, and healthy. I apply it right after I wash my face because I know that washing it strips my natural oils away, so that's the best time to deposit better ones. My tip with this is just don't apply too much- you only need a very minimal thin layer over your entire face. I always make sure to have it on before falling asleep at night to ensure soft, supple skin in the morning.
